SOAR Honors Choir Submission

TBR is seeking to assemble an Honors Choir of up to 26 students or alumni singers to perform at the annual SOAR event. Each Community College will identify two (2) singers (a combination of soprano, alto, tenor, and bass) and up to two (2) alternates to perform in the TBR Honors Choir. Alternates can be alumni to ensure the full choir has all SATB voice parts filled. Singers will learn and prepare the music with their home choir/choir director. One of the pieces will be “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Singers will perform 1-2 additional pieces selected by the director.
 
The campus faculty will select nominees through their own campus-based selection process.

Nominees must be available to fulfill the following requirements to serve in the choir:
 
  1. Nominees must be currently enrolled students at the time of nomination.
  2. Performers need to travel to Nashville the night before; the college will arrange lodging.
  3. Performers must be available on March 30-31, 2027, to participate in rehearsals and performances. Further details of rehearsal times and locations will be shared with selected choir members.
  4. Singers should wear all black clothing (dress up like you are going to church or a wedding) and bring a black folder.
